i know all the words to third eye blind's "semi-charmed life" and i'm not afraid to sing them. loudly.

i love the scent of freshly cut grass.

i have a hopeless crush on the notion of having a hopeless crush; i've had the same stupid hopeless crush on someone for over two years now.

i live in los angeles, but i'm having a very illicit long-distance affair with new york city.

i have deep distrust for people who walk around in public with birds on their shoulders. i also cannot comprehend why some people drink hot beverages out of straws.

if i could have lunch with anyone i'd pick diane keaton. we'd go to the polo lounge and have shrimp caesar salads and talk about photography, art, conserving architectural landmarks in los angeles, comedy, why women opt not to get married, clown paintings and looking for mr. goodbar. it would be the first of many such lunches.

i have two jobs: i teach ceramic painting in a retail environment and i am a tutor at my university's writing center. i've begun to like teaching.

i am getting a masters' degree in english with an emphasis on creative writing.

although i am currently not a u.s. citizen, i am a staunch democrat. that said, i am currently terrified of what the next four years will bring in terms of safety at home and abroad, of the valuable progress we've made socially, the rights of women and opportunities for young people, minorities and people of color.

i absolutely cannot start my day without a cup of coffee.

i like old movies, my digital camera, being a nerd and a word geek, woody allen's humor, trying new restaurants, im-ing with my friends, npr, sleeping in, chapstick, wearing flip-flops all year long, bookstores, handbags, making out, netflix, wb young adult melodramas like felicity and dawson's creek, getting mail, music-swaps with blogger friends, writing, reading, and making people laugh.

someone once told me: "stay sassy. it keeps 'em guessing."

and, yes, people really do call me 'punkin.'
